My Brother in Arms

That man I know

Is a man worth standing with

A heavy heart, I salute him

The soldier that was round every corner

I never worried about back up, you held ground

Fellow soldier

I wanted to be strong

I wish was

I could've cried with you

Shared a battle song

Fellow soldier

I used to imagine shadowboxing in your head

It felt so human

I was angry at whatever it was that hurt you

I never knew and,

it tears me up inside

Fellow soldier

I'd take every bullet with pride

I know I owe you a few

I still want to be a hero for you

Fellow soldier

You're a man I could never be

Half as great, Anyone would feel so whole

I owe you words of recognition

Words I don't think I can live up to

I'd give so much to make you proud

I want to make you laugh like nothing else

My brother in arms died at war

I'll never surrender the fight that we fought
